Terms of service
By using Haggle Map you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What Haggle Map does
Haggle Map helps you find garage sales, yard sales, estate sales, flea markets and auctions near you. It shows sales posted directly on Haggle Map and links to sales posted on other public websites.
Sales from other websites
Many sales on Haggle Map come from other websites. Those listings belong to those sites and the people who posted them, and each one links back to its original page. We don't run those sites and can't promise their details are complete or current, so check the original listing before you drive. If you own something shown here and want it taken down, email [email protected].
Listing your own sale
Anyone can list a sale for free. When you post one, you promise that:
- the sale is real and legal, and what you wrote about it is accurate;
- you're allowed to hold it at that address, and you have the right to post the photos you upload;
- you won't offer anything you aren't allowed to sell, and you won't post spam or ads that aren't about a sale.
You still own what you post. You let Haggle Map show it, including the address, dates, description and photos, on the site and in alert emails to shoppers nearby. We can edit or remove a listing that breaks these terms or looks fake or unsafe. Your edit link is the only key to your listing, so keep it private.
Paid upgrades
Two optional upgrades move a listing up in search. Each is a one-time payment for a single listing:
- Regular costs $4.99 and adds a Promoted badge, placement above free listings, and room for up to 8 photos.
- Premium costs $14.99 and puts your sale at the top of search with a gold map pin. It also sends an email alert to shoppers who signed up for alerts near your sale, allows up to 20 photos, and gives you a dashboard of how shoppers found your listing.
An upgrade covers the listing you bought it for and that listing's dates, and it doesn't move to a different sale. Better placement changes where your sale shows up in results, but it can't promise a certain number of visitors or buyers. Stripe handles every payment, so Haggle Map never sees or stores your card number. Prices are in US dollars and may change for future purchases.
Using the site fairly
Please don't overload Haggle Map, copy it in bulk with automated tools, try to get around its security, or use it to harass anyone.
No guarantees
We provide Haggle Map as is. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we can't guarantee that it will be. Sales get canceled, move or sell out. Haggle Map isn't part of any deal between a buyer and a seller, and it isn't responsible for the items, the prices, or anything that happens at a sale.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, Haggle Map's total liability for any claim about the site is limited to what you paid us for the listing involved, or $25 if you didn't pay anything.
Changes and Texas law
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and using the site after a change means you accept it. Texas law governs these terms, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in Texas.
Privacy policy
Haggle Map doesn't sell or rent personal information, and it doesn't use advertising trackers.
Searches and your location
To show sales near you, the site uses the zip code you type or, if you allow it, your browser's location. Cloudflare, the network that delivers the site, also tells us your approximate area (such as your city and zip code) from your connection, so the page can start near you before you pick a place. We record each search's zip code and distance with an anonymous code that changes every day. That lets us count searches in an area without knowing who searched. We delete those records after 120 days.
What stays in your browser
The site saves your last search area in a cookie named sr_loc (your zip code, distance, and a location rounded to about a kilometer) so it can start there next time. Your browser sends that cookie back to Haggle Map when you visit. Your saved stops and filters stay in your browser's local storage and never leave it. You can clear both in your browser settings.
Listings you post
A listing's title, dates, hours, address, description and photos are public. The email address or phone number you verify never appears publicly. We use it to send your verification code and notices about your listing. We store verification codes and edit links only in scrambled (hashed) form. To limit spam, we also keep a scrambled form of the internet address a listing was posted from.
Sale alerts
If you sign up for alerts, we keep your email address, zip code and distance to send them. Every alert has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them right away.
Payments
Stripe processes all payments. If you verified an email address for your listing, we pass it to Stripe to fill in its checkout form. We get back whether the payment went through and which upgrade it was for, never your card number.
Statistics for sellers
When shoppers see a sale listed on Haggle Map in their results, open it, look at its photos, save it or get directions, we count it for that seller's dashboard. Each count uses the same kind of daily anonymous code, plus the shopper's zip code and distance from the sale when we know them. We never store an IP address or a name with it. Sellers only see totals, and any zip code with fewer than 3 shoppers is grouped as "Other". We delete these records after 120 days.
Services that help run the site
- Cloudflare delivers the site and sees visitors' IP addresses to do that.
- Stripe handles payments.
- Our email and text message providers send verification codes, notices and alerts.
- OpenStreetMap supplies the map images and unpkg supplies the map software. Your browser loads both directly.
- When you open a sale from another website, your browser loads its photos from that website.
- Directions open in Google Maps, which has its own privacy policy.
Your choices
You can delete your listing any time from its edit link. To have us delete your listing, alerts or other information, email [email protected]. Haggle Map isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes too.
Refund policy
You can get a full refund for an upgrade if you ask before your listing's first sale day. If Haggle Map removes your listing, you get a full refund for its upgrade. Once your sale has started there's no refund, because the better placement has already been delivered.
To ask for a refund, email [email protected] with your sale's title and the email address you paid with. Refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe and usually show up within 5 to 10 business days.
